VSYS Bulk Capacitance Shows Up as a System Problem

Short current transients can make a stable-looking digital design fail under real audio and radio load.

The bench evidence for VSYS Bulk Capacitance Shows Up as a System Problem forced a narrower explanation than the original assumption. Insufficient bulk capacitance on the system supply can appear as resets, codec instability or behavior that seems unrelated to the power rail.

Wi-Fi transmission, amplifier load and processor activity do not draw current smoothly. Measuring the rail during those events is more useful than checking only nominal DC voltage. The hardware review therefore treats VSYS capacitance as a product reliability issue, not a cosmetic BOM choice.

Verification included both the happy path and the failure path because a feature that works once is not yet a production contract. Evidence marker: vsys-bulk-capacitance.

When failures correlate with load bursts, inspect the power path before rewriting the software that happened to be running at the time. For a voice product, that kind of boundary discipline matters because audio, signalling and hardware symptoms often look deceptively similar.
