DevOps Culture: Ownership & Collaboration · advanced
DevOps Is a Relationship Between Disciplines
DevOps works when development and operations constraints influence each other before deployment, not after.
DevOps is often reduced to Docker, CI pipelines or cloud tooling. Those tools matter, but the cultural shift is that software design and operational reality stop being sequential departments.
A firmware feature that cannot be recovered over OTA has an operations problem before release. A dashboard that cannot identify stale telemetry has a software-design problem. A secret store that cannot be restored has both.
The useful relationship is continuous negotiation between feature goals, operability, security and recovery. Each discipline changes the shape of the others.
The tools automate that relationship; they do not replace the collaboration, negotiation and shared accountability that make the operating model actually work.

Repository/project evidence for this note: devops-culture. The point is the operating model behind the change, not the commit number itself.
