OVERVIEW

What I built.

Public RF and satellite observatory using SatNOGS, CelesTrak and NOAA data, with cache/failure isolation and bounded satellite decode tooling.

02

Integrated SatNOGS observations, CelesTrak catalogs and NOAA SWPC data with independent source-health handling.

03

Added bounded satellite decoder tooling for AFSK/AX.25, G3RUH, experimental CW and raw payload previews.

02

SYSTEM ARCHITECTURE

How the system is divided.

01
Architecture boundary

Public data sources -> cached server collectors -> normalized API -> browser observatory.

02
Architecture boundary

Decoder requests are constrained to observations already present in the feed/cache.

03
Architecture boundary

Source failure is shown explicitly and cached data is marked stale instead of silently treated as live.

NETWORK / DATA FLOW

What talks to what.

IMPLEMENTATION

How it works in practice.

  1. 01

Public data sources -> cached server collectors -> normalized API -> browser observatory.

  2. 02

Decoder requests are constrained to observations already present in the feed/cache.

  3. 03

Source failure is shown explicitly and cached data is marked stale instead of silently treated as live.

09

BOUNDARIES / CONSTRAINTS

What the project does not pretend to solve.

—External orbital/space-weather data is not proof of local RF reception

—CW output is explicitly experimental

—Upstream source outages are shown instead of hidden

10

RESULT / CURRENT STATE

What this produced.

A deployed observatory that separates real received/public evidence from inference and keeps upstream failures visible.
